Episode 361 - Don’t Cuddle With Your Thoughts with Georg Lolos
Author and meditation teacher Georg Lolos shares his profound Ego House framework where attention and beliefs fertilize thoughts, pulling us into any of 10 relatable rooms of suffering (control, resistance, greed, hubris, denial, inferiority, neediness, guilt, confusion, and powerlessness). He describes these rooms on both the individual and collective level and provides a road map out of suffering into the garden of peace, freedom, and creativity. Our conversation also explores the power of compassionate self-observation, how these emotional structures impact our societies collectively and politically, and the huge healing potential for the children of our world.
Bio - Georg is an author, meditation teacher, and former television journalist based in Cologne, Germany. He spent three years as a resident at the Buddhist monastery Plum Village under the guidance of Thich Nhat Hanh. He is the author of two books built around the "Ego-House" framework, a model exploring the different rooms of human consciousness. His current work extends this framework into the political and social domain.
